Welcome to SaveTheStaffies.org.uk

SaveTheStaffies.org.uk has come to life following a discussion between a group of animal rescue workers, dog pound ‘helpers’ & animal rescue volunteers
- quite simply, we’re here to help save more Staffordshire Bull Terriers!
Every year in the UK around 107,000 dogs are taken in to Local Authority ‘pounds’ after being found as strays on the street or handed in by owners that can no longer care for them.
A frighteningly large portion of these dogs are Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Staffy crosses. This sadly means that of the 9,000+ put to sleep by Local Authorities every year and the many unrecorded cases of dogs put to sleep at non ‘non-kill’ shelters – many many healthy Staffies, young and old, are being euthanised.
We want to help show the UK public that these Staffies don’t deserve to die and with a little effort from dog lovers around the UK – they needn’t have to!
